Alison Hammond makes emotional Josie Gibson admission ahead of I’m A Celeb

This Morning's Alison Hammond got a bit teary-eyed as she confessed how much she misses her co-star Josie Gibson.

Josie, 38, is currently in Australia for this year's I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, leaving a gap on the ITV daytime show.

During Thursday's episode of This Morning, 16 November, after watching a pre-recorded clip from Josie, Alison admitted: "It's actually made me emotional because I speak to Josie nearly every single day and like I can't speak to her, it's horrible!"

Her co-host, Craig Doyle, asked if celebs have their phones taken away when they land in Australia. Alison, who was on I'm A Celebrity back in 2010, confirmed: "As soon as you get there!"

She also revealed she advised Josie to take a secret phone, or 'burner'. When Craig asked if Josie had followed her advice, Alison said: "I told her to! I told her to bring a burner and she was like: 'No, Alison!' but I reckon she did…"

This comes after This Morning acknowledged Josie's participation in I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! with an emotional pre-recorded message aired on Tuesday's show.

Rylan Clark, the host of the edition, kicked things off by saying: "She's so nervous but I think she's going to be brilliant!" His co-host Cat Deeley chimed in with: "She's so brave!" Rylan added: "I think I speak for everyone here when I say we are so excited to watch her in the jungle, it's going to be gold!"

Before jetting off to Australia, Josie shared a video message from Heathrow Airport. She said: "Hello you guys, so the rumours are true! I am heading to the jungle…. just arrived at Heathrow Airport now. I have said an emotional goodbye to Reggie [her son] and I keep thinking to myself: 'What have I done? What have I signed up for?'

"I'm just hoping that I am a survivor but thank you for all your support! I just hope I get through this because I cannot stand creepy crawlies, I don't like heights, I don't like rats and I don't like snakes… so wish me luck!" Rylan and Cat also mentioned Rochelle Humes' husband Marvin Humes joining the ITV show.

Joining Josie in the jungle will be ex-politician Nigel Farage, jockey Frankie Dettori, ex-EastEnder Danielle Harold, First Dates star Fred Sirieix, and Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson, among others.

I'm A Celebrity starts on ITV on Sunday, 19 November at 9pm
