BBC Strictly star Bobby Braziers dad Jeff details secret sign from Jade Goody

Strictly Come Dancing fave Bobby Brazier’s dad Jeff has made the revelation that they both regard feathers as a message from Jade Goody beyond the grave. The former Big Brother star died of cervical cancer when Bobby and his younger brother Freddie, now 19, were just kids.

However, 20-year-old Bobby is able to remain spiritually close to her when he sees the “secret sign” – feathers – while his dad also tries to connect to his ex, Jade, through speech. “I often ask her for advice and we always find feathers. Many an occasion I’ve asked, ‘What would you do?’ because it’s a tough responsibility having all the weight of it on your shoulders. She is always part of the conversation,” Jeff recently told the Daily Star.

“Bobby has so much of her in him and we see that shine through in every performance. Of course for those she’s absolutely with us, she’s there.” It’s not uncommon to associate feathers with a sign from a deceased loved one, and in superstitious tradition, they are considered a form of communication from the other side.

A popular saying goes: “When feathers appear, angels are near.” There’s also a possibility that Bobby could have inherited his knack for dancing from his mother’s side of the family, as Jeff doesn’t think it’s from him.

“He’s shocked and he doesn’t know where I get whatever it is that makes one get to the quarter-finals in Strictly from, because he doesn’t see so much of that in himself,” the EastEnders actor explained of his dad last week.

He delighted Dirty Dancing fans with a sizzling Salsa routine in time to ‘(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life’ with his pro partner Dianne Buswell on Saturday.

Meanwhile, an emotional Dianne – whose dad Mark is battling cancer, just like Bobby’s late mum Jade did – says she views him as her “rock”.

Many believe the pair are now virtually guaranteed to sail through to the final, with a recent “near kiss” between them. which Dianne said was purely for theatrical purposes, setting the internet alight.

Bobby has previously explained that he doesn’t exactly miss his mother as she died when he was just five years old, but that he continues to feel her presence as he experiences his biggest showbiz role to date.

The actor, who landed a National Television Award for the best rising star earlier this year, says his emotions have been pouring out.

“I haven’t really stopped crying for the last couple of years on account of how proud I am. Getting into EastEnders, walking the catwalk for Dolce & Gabbana, winning an NTA, it borders into awe!” he exclaimed.

Jeff has been feeling awe too, admitting that he “can’t possibly” shake his hips with the same skill that his son possesses.

Followers can catch Bobby and Dianne dancing again on Saturday at 7:25pm on BBC One.
