Big Brother star Hallie Clarke was targeted in school when she started transitioning.
The 18-year-old appeared on the latest series of the hit ITV2 reality show and became the third person evicted from the house last week. Hallie's mother Samantha opened up about her daughter's bullying hell in school, revealing she was brutally attacked by tormentors after returning from summer holiday's wearing a girls' uniform.
Recalling the incident, Samantha told The Mirror: "Some boys were waiting at the bottom of the stairs and when she came down they kicked her and stamped on her." Samantha told the publication how bullies would also verbally abuse Hallie, telling her "you’re a man" or "you’re a boy" to deliberately hurt her.

But Hallie, who was born Harry, didn't let the bullies get to her and three years later, was voted prom queen at her South London school. Samantha added: "She was voted prom queen. I picked her up and she came prancing towards the car with her crown on."
The youth worker opened up about her personal journey with her fellow housemates just a few days into her Big Brother experience. With her co-stars gathered around the dining table, Hallie said: "Yesterday I feel like I wasn’t being 100% authentic in myself.
"I thought I’d let everyone know I’m trans, if you didn’t know already. I just thought I’d make that loud and clear. I’m a trans woman if you didn’t know." The housemates were quick to support her, with Chanelle saying: "Good for you. That’s very brave of you," as Dylan added: "This is a moment. I like it."
Later in the show, Hallie revealed how she planned to spend the eye-watering £100,000 cash prize if she was to win. As she discussed her transition, the teenager confessed she would spend her winnings on a "designer vagina."
She explained: "If I win, I'm going to get a vagina, a designer vagina, that's what I want. And I'm going to pay my mum back for all the years that she paid for my treatments." When Kerry asked how much it would cost, Hallie replied: "Like 30 grand.
"The mind doesn't match the body. That's the best way to describe being trans. I have a female mind, but the body doesn't match." Hallie explained that Samantha ended up in debt attempting to fund her treatment and she was forced to stop taking the medication because the private prescription was too expensive.
Despite the hefty price of £350 per private prescription, Samantha insisted she would do it "10 times over". Jenkin went on to ask what sort of treatment the teenager had undergone during her journey so far, which she revealed first started when she turned 16.
Hallie went on: "So at 16 I went on HRT which is testosterone blockers and oestrogen. So every night I have to do my gel which is just like a cream, you just pump it on and rub it in either in between your thighs or on your outer arms."
Big Brother airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm followed by Big Brother Late & Live at 10pm.
