I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Chris Moyles has revealed the moment he walked away from camp during his stint in the jungle. The Radio X DJ lost his patience when former health secretary Matt Hancock told campmates his reasons for joining the ITV reality series. Chris returned to his breakfast show permanently this week after coming sixth in the jungle.

The veteran radio presenter has been one of the most vocal celebrities on the reality show to criticise the motives of the Conservative MP.

He continued to discuss the controversial appearance of the former minister Down Under.

During his return to breakfast radio duties, Chris explained: “I was venting quite a lot when he first came in.

“Because, well, I’ll just say he should be at work, because he’s an MP and he’s paid to look after people and their interests and hopefully make their lives better.”

Later on, he added: “Matt Hancock kind of dived around a few questions I thought, and then said, ‘I guess all I’m just asking for is forgiveness.’

“At that point I had to walk out of camp and just get away because I personally found that quite fake. And that really wound me up.”

The former Radio 1 presenter continued: “He’s an MP and he’s paid to look after people and their interests and hopefully make their lives better.

“I don’t know how he does that by going on the jungle show.”

While in camp, Chris did not duck out of addressing the MP’s shock arrival and laughed at the suggestion of the impending release of Matt’s memoirs.

In the jungle, the DJ asked: “So when’s your book out?” and to his shock the suspended MP began to tell him the details of his new book titled Pandemic Diaries.

After surviving seven Bushtucker Trials, the West Suffolk MP eventually came third in the show.

He lost out to Hollyoaks’ actor Owen Warner and the queen of the jungle, former England footballer Jill Scott.

Since his return to the airwaves Chris has given fans even more of an insight into the workings of the reality series.

On his Radio X show he told listeners about the toil he and Scarlette Douglas faced in some Dingo Dollar challenges.

He explained: “We were so bad at winning the treats in the Dingo Dollar deals on wheels challenges.

“Scarlette and I did a challenge and they didn’t even show it. That’s how bad we were. ”

“I said to someone ‘Oh did you see the first time on a challenge it was so exciting.'”

He continued: “We had to do the thing with the quotes from the people and blow the football with the garden vacs.

“They looked at me as if I was insane and I said, you didn’t see that. They didn’t even show it, it took three hours!”

Chris declared: “It never made it, it never made the show.”
