Christopher Dean hits back at booing audience over Dancing On Ice scores

Christopher Dean hit back at the booing live audience during tonight's (February 5) Dancing On Ice after his scores for Corrie's Mollie Gallagher.

After giving Mollie and professional skater Sylvain Longchambon a rather low score, with all judges scoring 6.5 for a total of 26, the audience were quick to boo at the judging panel.

Responding to the audience reaction, Christopher hit back at the boos as he joked: "I love how there's so many experts in the room!"

While Phillip Schofield pointed out: "Chris, bit of booing from the audience, they thought it should have been higher!"

To which Christopher explained to Mollie: "Well, yeah! It could have been higher!

"It started off great but when you started skating by yourself… it slowed right down and your confidence went down a little bit."

Christopher then challenged Mollie to be the first contestant of the series to perform a headbanger on the ice.

It comes as the third live show last week saw Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton eliminated from the competition.

Michelle, 43, found herself in the bottom two alongside ex-EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, 50, with the pair receiving the least amount of public votes.

In an unexpected twist, there was no skate-off between Michelle and Patsy, leaving them no opportunity to be saved by the judges – as is what normally happens – and Michelle was immediately eliminated as the celebrity with the fewest votes, with Patsy heading through to the fourth live show.

It comes after professional skaters Dan Whiston and Mark Hanretty opened up to OK! about what it's like behind the scenes of Dancing On Ice.

The pair revealed that the judges all have blankets on their laps under the desks, as they explained: "I think Oti in particular really struggles with the cold and they have blankets under the judges’ panel to stay warm.

“Luckily, the rink isn’t as cold as a normal rink because of the studio lighting, so it’s not as cold as people may think.”

Dancing On Ice continues on Sundays on ITV.
