Coronation Street's Ruxandra Porojnicu shares sweet message as she leaves soap

Ruxandra Porojnicu shared a sweet message as she left Coronation Street, after two years on the cobbles.

The actress has played Alina Pop in the ITV soap since 2019, with the character leaving Weatherfield in tonight’s episode after dropping the bombshell that she is pregnant with Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) baby.

Following an emotional double-bill of Corrie, the 28-year-old thanked those around her for their support.

Posting a snap as she cuddled Alan in front of the iconic Rovers Return, she began: ‘And that’s a wrap on Corrie!

‘Thanks to everyone who encouraged and supported me. It meant so much.

‘I worked with some of the finest people, who are not only extremely talented but very humble and caring.

‘They made me feel welcome and a part of this beautiful family. TA EVERYONE!’

Already missing their tight bonds on set, Ruxandra followed this up with the tweet: ‘People up north are well nice #alina #corrie.’

Well, she’s not wrong.

It has been an emotional time for Alina over the last few weeks, after it emerged that Tyrone had kissed ex-girlfriend Fizz (Jennie McAlpine), behind her back.

As she decided to leave the Street for good, Tyrone begged her to reconsider, as he wanted to be close to his unborn baby.

‘We can come to some sort of arrangement,’ he begged, to no avail.

‘Over my dead body,’ his ex spat back. ‘Why would I let you anywhere near this baby? You’re in denial Tyrone, can’t you see? Everyone else can!

‘You’ve done a rubbish job of bringing up your two kids, so I’m asking you again: why would I let you anywhere near mine?’

Will Tyrone be able to change her mind, and will Ruxandra make a surprise return?
