Eamonn Holmes hasn’t seen This Morning since leaving as it’s ‘too sensitive’

Eamonn Holmes admitted he can't tune into his former show This Morning because it would be "too sensitive".

The presenter, 62, and his wife Ruth Langsford, 62, fronted the ITV show on a Friday for 15 years before being replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary in a move that shocked many.

Speaking about This Morning around six months after his departure in an interview with The Mirror, Eamonn confessed he no longer watches the show but claimed fans still regularly ask him about it.

"It would be too… sensitive," he said before adding: "I mean, I spend every day going out on the street and people saying, ‘Why are you and Ruth not on any more?’"

In the same interview, the Northern Irish broadcaster hit out at ITV bosses and accused them of "telling lies" about the circumstances surrounding his departure, shutting down claims he turned his back on the broadcaster for his presenting gig at GB News.

He said: "I wish somebody would show me the email or the letter or that I was sent to say, ‘Eamonn, this is why this is coming to an end'."

"But to tell lies, that I left them to go to GB News…I didn’t – they left me. Let’s get it straight. They left me. I don’t care, because our audience is only up," the former Sky News Sunrise presenter added.

Considering the thought of his possible return, Eamonn said there's a few people who would "have to not be there" for him to work for ITV again.

A spokesperson for ITV responded to the comments made by Eamonn, saying: "This isn’t a version of events that we recognise and as we have said before we wish Eamonn all of the very best."

Eamonn is currently working on his new Saturday Morning series Farm to Feast: Best Menu Wins – a competition celebrating amateur cooks and award-winning produce from across Northern Ireland.
