Gemma Collins Christmas baby joy! Now is the perfect time – shes waited so long

With Christmas just around the corner, Gemma Collins is said to be full of “hope and joy” at the prospect of becoming a mother in 2024.

The TV personality recently shared that she is starting her fertility journey, and feels that now is the “perfect time” to welcome a little one, a source tells OK! .

“Gemma has been trying to become a mother for so long and it’s the perfect time, she’s so excited for Christmas and is hoping for a miracle and a little one for the new year,” claims the source.

Suffering from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) for 13 years, Gemma has been open about her fertility struggles, and has written about having suffered three “devastating” miscarriages.

“I cannot get pregnant. It is a nightmare. I cannot seem to get a doctor and I am looking to find a fertility doctor who can help me,” the 42-year-old said this summer.

Appearing to have found someone to help, Gemma recently shared that she is ready to get things underway. “I’m starting my fertility journey within the next couple of weeks. I’m going to a clinic so watch these cards and get ready for me, honey,” she said.

And she has been given fresh hope by 57-year-old Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana, 49, who have had a tough time getting pregnant in the past, after they welcomed their sixth child last month.

“The Tana Ramsay news was the greatest thing to wake up to,” Gemma said. “Incredible. It really made me think positively about my future and it kind of took the pressure off. I don’t think anyone knew Tana was pregnant, so it was such a lovely surprise, but I got butterflies in my stomach when I saw it.”

Gemma has had a tumultuous time when it comes to romantic relationships, but has finally found her happily ever after with fiancé, business owner Rami Hawash, 50.

Sharing how the couple are looking to take the next steps towards parenthood, the source continues, “They say there’s never a right time to have kids but Gemma really is ready.

“She’s had such a rocky past romantically and has been with the wrong men, so even though she did want to be a mother it wouldn’t have been right. But now, she has the perfect love with Rami and is hoping to make it complete with a baby.“

Gemma originally met Rami back in 2011, when they first locked eyes in an Essex pub. The pair got engaged a year later but called things off shortly after, as Gemma claimed that she “wasn’t ready” for marriage at the time.

However, they reignited their romance in 2020, and celebrated three years together this December, with Gemma gushing over her beau with a sweet video montage on her socials, writing, “There’s been highs and lows
fire and ice but always LOVE @rami_hawash_ love you, you’re always pushing me when I doubt myself and love me just a home in the garden. Thank you for all the madness and the love and endless talking about plants.”

Saying “I do” isn’t the main goal for the pair, as having children comes first in Gemma’s book. “The big day is not a priority, I’d rather spend the money on working out how I can have a baby,” Gemma said this year.

Back in 2020, she said, “I will have a baby and I do want a baby. And also, every mother will know this, I want to feel motherhood… I’ve not had the physical experience of being a full-time mum. I don’t want that robbed from me in my life, that would be a travesty.”

Opening up about living with PCOS – which can cause irregular periods, facial hair and difficulty getting pregnant – she shared, “With my condition of PCOS, it’s not easy to fall pregnant and I did suffer a miscarriage which was really sad during the lockdown period. I have suffered with it for the last 10 years. I started to gain weight when I was 28, my periods were all over the place.”

Now that she has found a medical professional to help, the GC is not only excited to get her fertility journey underway, but is reportedly hoping to document it in a TV show.

Although the BBC was believed to be the “front runner” for a series that would show her journey to becoming a mother, Channel 4 and ITV are also said to have shown an interest.

Now, our source has confirmed that Gemma is hoping to follow in the footsteps of one very famous reality show mum.

“She has been in talks to film the fertility journey for a TV show and is really keen to share it. She wants to follow Kim Kardashian with how she filmed her whole pregnancy on Keeping Up With The Kardashians ,” they say. “She’d love to do something similar to that.”

Of course, Gemma is already a doting stepmother to Rami’s son, Tristan, from a previous relationship, who she has called a “magical gift”.

Celebrating his fifth birthday last January, she shared, “The most magical gift. Tristan. Happy birthday to my amazing beautiful, kind, caring, funny stepson.

“I love you so much and you make my life happier beyond all the stars in the sky. I’m so lucky to have you in my life.”

As the trio prepare for a family Christmas together, the source shares, “Gemma is feeling really content right now with him and is looking forward to a family Christmas together.

“It will be in the New Year that she really gets going with her fertility journey – she’s so excited for it.”

With a potential new TV venture on the horizon and hopefully a new addition to the family, we wish GC everything she hopes for in 2024.
