Homes Under the Hammer: Alex Jones disagrees with buyer
Homes Under The Hammer’s guest host Alex Jones jokingly walked off set during the show on Friday after disliking a home buyer’s preference.
The One Show host joined Martel Maxwell for the programme’s 20th anniversary episode and didn’t shy away from sharing her thoughts about newly bought properties.
Speaking at the start of the show, Alex, 46, began by thanking the team for having her as part of their special edition, revealing she’d always loved the show.
She told viewers: “Thanks for letting me be a part of the birthday celebrations, I have been a fan of this programme for as long as I can remember.
“And, I take a keen interest in property so this is like a dream come true!”

As the show went on, the pair met first time home buyer Hugo, who bought a property at auction for £280,000.
While discussing what he wanted to do with the flat, Alex asked him: “What’s your style?”
Hugo went on to say he liked a “minimal, modern” look, but before he could list anything else, the presenter jokingly took issue.
“Oh no, right bye,” she replied, as she shut the conversation down and left the room.
Seconds later, she returned and made it clear she was just joking around as Martel continued to laugh.

The presenter then went on to give her advice about what she and Martel would do with the place, although Hugo had other plans with the help of his interior designer relative.
Quizzed on whether he’d be living at the property alone, Hugo confirmed he may be joined by his girlfriend at a later date, but joked it was “a secret” for now.
Concluding the episode, Alex said to the camera: “I’ve had loads of fun bringing you all the action from the auctions.”
“You’ve had fun? I’ve had an absolute ball Alex, thank you so much for joining us,” Martel added.
The stand-in host went on to ask if she could join the show again, to which her co-presenter encouraged.
Martel has been presenting the show since 2017 following Lucy Alexander’s departure after 13 years.
Earlier this week, the pair reunited alongside Martin Roberts, Jacqui Joseph and Tommy Walsh for anniversary celebrations held in Scotland.
Fans of the show have since called for Lucy to rejoin the cast, which she hasn’t ruled out.
Homes Under The Hammer continues Monday at 11.15am on BBC One. The special anniversary episodes are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
