DEAR DEIDRE: SINCE I quit drinking in January last year, I haven’t touched a drop.
But now I wonder if I could have alcohol occasionally, or if that would make me slip back into boozing heavily.
I’m a 48-year-old man and used to drink a bottle of wine, or more, every night.
Giving up has saved me money and my health is much better now.
I’ve lost weight, sleep well and look less bloated and blotchy. It’s also much easier to concentrate at work.
But I do miss having the odd pint or a glass of wine with dinner.
I’d like to start drinking again on my days off. My wife, who is 45, says it’s a bad idea and I should stay sober.
What do you think?
