Ant McPartlin has suggested that contestants only take part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! for the huge amounts of money they get paid.
The presenter, 48, who is worth around Ā£30 million, was asked in an interview whether footballer Cristiano Ronaldo would ever sign up to be a camp mate in the jungle.
Geordie star Ant, 48, replied: ‘Never going to happen, is it, because he’s making gazzillions of millions of money because he’s playing football elsewhere – he’s not going to do it you silly sausage.’
Since the series began in 2002, stars have been keen to take part because of the pay cheques despite claiming that they want to meet new people or enjoy the once in a lifetime experience.
Ant’s snipe comes as I’m A Celeb signed its highest ever paid star, Nigel Farage.

This Morning’s Josie Gibson, 38, is reportedly also receiving Ā£100,000 to appear on the show which she says will help her and Reggie, her five-year-old son, immensely.
Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, 31, does not have a confirmed fee but his girlfriend, Zara McDermott, 27, was paid Ā£25,000 for her recent appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.
Stars are usually paid between Ā£30,000 and Ā£100,000 to partake in the show and Nella Rose, 26, is suspected to be on the lower end due to her relatively unknown status.
But former Queen of the Jungle, Georgia Toffolo, was paid just Ā£13,000 to appear on the show and ended up winning the hearts of the public and came out on top in the vote in 2017.
Meanwhile, Stanley Johnson, 83, who was fifth out of the Jungle that same year was paid a staggering Ā£200,000 to appear.
