David Beckham has designed suites in a swish hotel for high-rollers – but only his mates are allowed to stay over.
The former Manchester United and England icon picked up a fat pay cheque to mastermind a range of rooms at The Londoner hotel in Macao. The rooms feature images of Becks and former Spice Girl wife Victoria, but guests visiting the Chinese enclave – dubbed the Las Vegas of the east – must be pals of the star to score a reservation.
The hotel – where other suites cost £650-a-night – tells would-be travellers: “Created by Sands Resorts Macao global ambassador David Beckham in collaboration with leading London interior design firm David Collins Studio, Suites by David Beckham are Macao’s first celebrity-designed suites.

“The 14 bespoke suites, ranging from one to three bedrooms, reflect the best of the British star’s discerning style and sophistication and feature all the home comforts he enjoys when travelling.”
But tourists hoping to bag a Beckham-inspired room can’t book online and are told: “At Suites by David Beckham, he is personally welcoming invited guests to share his celebrity lifestyle with experiences exclusive and special to him.”
The £1.7billion hotel opened in 2021. The Londoner – modelled on the House of Parliament and with a Big Ben clocktower – had planned to open its doors in the summer of 2020. But visitors dried up due to Covid.
In his Netflix docuseries titled “Beckham”, David takes an opportunity to embarrass his wife Victoria. In the first episode, she explained what initially drew her to David and said: “I think also we both come from families that work really hard.
"Both of our parents work very hard, we’re very working class.” David then interrupted her interview and said: “Be honest!”
“I am being honest,” she answered. But David asks: “What car did your dad drive you to school in?”
Though Victoria says “It’s not a simple answer” and “it depends,” David insists and she eventually confesses: “OK, in the ’80s my dad had a Rolls Royce.”
