Inside Sarah Beeny and Graham Swift's Somerset marital mansion

Inside Sarah Beeny and Graham Swift’s Somerset mansion as she admits marital struggles… complete with classic country decor, antiques aplenty and sprawling grounds

Sarah Beeny has confessed her marriage to husband Graham Swift is ‘hanging on by its fingernails’ following her breast cancer battle.

Yet prior to her reveal, the couple were splashed over television screens thanks to the refurbishment on their stunning country mansion – which is the feature of their show Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country.

Back in 2020, Sarah and Graham decided to up sticks from their London home with their kids sons Billy, 18, Charlie, 16, Rafferty, 14, and Laurie, 12, and move to a former 220 acre farm near Bruton in Somerset which they have renovated on-screen.

Although the farm had permission to build a new house, the couple had grander plans as they wanted to build a mini stately home with five properties in a different field where planning permission had been granted.

Despite beef from neighbours, they were eventually granted the planning permission, while Sarah caused further controversies when she decided to keep a wild rabbit as a pet after her cat captured the animal.

‘I discovered years ago that you can paint a room dark red, but it’s the other colours in there that’s the difference between a room that looks like a womb, or a luscious rich and exotically decadent living space.’

Given Graham’s career as an artist, the walls in the home are carefully curated with stunning pieces, including his own work and that of other artists.

As well as the stunning inside, Sarah previously spoke about what she loves about the exterior saying: ‘What made me fall in love with the house was its position…

‘The sunsets and sunrises are beautiful, the views are amazing and there is a tinkling stream to play in. It is also less than two hours from London so I can get up and down to meetings very easily.
