Jeff Brazier has praised his son Bobby's dance partner Dianne Buswell, after the pair narrowly missed out on the Strictly Come Dancing Glitterball prize.
Jeff was in the audience as Bobby and Dianne competed in the grand final on Saturday evening, 16 December.
EastEnders actor Bobby and Aussie dancer Dianne made it to the end of the BBC One dance contest. They were up against fellow finalists Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, and Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin.
Each couple had to perform three times each to impress the voting public and the judges' scores didn't count during the last live show. Bobby and Dianne gave their all for their 'show dance' and tugged at our heartstrings with their emotional Couple's Choice.
At the end of the night, Layton and Nikita received a total score of 119 points out of a possible 120. Bobby and Dianne bagged 117 points, while Ellie and Vito placed bottom of the final leaderboard with a total of 115 points.
But it was Ellie, 22, who emerged victorious and became the youngest-ever winner of Strictly with her professional dance partner Vito, 31. Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman confirmed the news.
After the series ended, Jeff, who often watched from the audience to support his son Bobby, shared a heartfelt message on social media for Dianne.
He posted a sweet photo of Bobby and Dianne hugging after the final and wrote: "Little @diannebuswell appreciation post. I will never not be grateful for all of your hard work, coaching and for the friendship you have developed with my son."
"Watching those performances was the biggest thrill and the memories you both created are priceless. The expression of loss though 'this woman's work' will be rewatched for life. A timeless moment for our family. My absolute respect goes to you for what you had to hold personally throughout the process and I'm so relieved for you that you can now go and be with your family after all you have selflessly given to the cause."
"Whatever comes next for Bob this will be a huge chapter for him and to spend so much time with an example and a professional such as you not to mention the rest of the amazing cast and all in production is just a privilege."
He then said, referring to Dianne's family after she shared about her dad's chemotherapy: "Please send my love to Mark and the family and I hope Joe is enjoying some time together at long last. A million thank you's." Dianne quickly replied: "I feel so blessed to be apart of the family i love you all very much xxx thank you guys."
Dianne has flown back home with her boyfriend Joe Sugg. She had told fans earlier that she would spend Christmas in Australia because her dad's health meant her family couldn't come to the UK for the holidays.
Her dad has been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, with her co-stars lending their support.
