Kate Middleton is ‘consistently confident’ and has ‘stepped up’ since passing of Queen

Kate Middleton has “stepped up” since the death of the Queen and showed ‘consistent confidence’ on a recent Royal engagement, a body language expert said.

The Princess of Wales, 41, was “confident, open and honest” on her solo trip to a Royal Navy air base in Somerset this week and left all who met her in ‘absolute awe’, Darren Stanton added. Darren said it made no difference that she went on the visit alone – without Prince William – as she seemed to be “enjoying every moment” – which was a sign of her evolving independence.

Kate, who was also pictured looking chic on a separate visit to an east London charity on Tuesday, has been carrying out solo engagements in the UK this week while the Prince of Wales, 41, has been in New York for the unveiling of the finalists for the 2023 Earthshot Prize – an environmental award set up by the future king.

Analysing the Princess' behaviour during the Navy base visit on behalf of Betfair Bingo, Darren said: “Kate definitely put the officers at ease. You can tell she has a very caring, and nurturing nature about her – even with people she's never met before.

“Looking at her genuine smiles, I know there was a big level of trust between her and the people she was interacting with. We then saw her shaking hands with people, and people formed a circle around her, so she was very much the centre of attention. You can see how much she's evolved in terms of her independence.”

Discussing Kate’s evolution since the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September last year, Darren added: “She has completely stepped up – especially after the passing of the Queen. Kate seemed to be consistently confident, as she would be with William.

"It made no difference to her that she was doing it alone, and she seemed to be enjoying every moment."

Darren went on to describe Princess Kate as ‘elegant’ – saying she looked as though she could have been part of the Royal Navy herself.

He added: “We saw her crouching down, and speaking with fully engaged eye contact – which proves she is always one for having a go and mucking in, and people love that about her. Her gestures were confident, open and honest, with those interacting with Kate on the day absolutely in awe of her and enjoying being in her presence.”

Darren added Kate “really let go” on the engagement – although did not respond to some “flirtatious signals” displayed by some of the men, out of respect for her husband.

“Kate tried on the lifejacket, and she looked like she was really enjoying herself,” Darren said. “She was showing lots of genuine laughter, and they seemed to be loving spending time with her.

“Some of the guys gave a few flirtatious signals here and there. Kate didn't respond – she was polite and friendly but respectful of William. We saw her really letting go. She looked relaxed as her shoulders were down, and had lots of natural interaction with the staff. She wasn't phased by William not being there.”
