Kourtney Kardashian has called her newborn baby boy a “miracle” following a terrifying pregnancy scare that left her undergoing emergency surgery.
The 44 year old founder of Poosh welcomed her first baby with husband Travis Barker earlier this month and it was recently revealed that they’d named the little one Rocky Thirteen Barker.
Opening up about becoming a mum for the fourth time, Kourtney explained that it felt like “a miracle” to be able to have a baby with the Blink 182 drummer.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Kardashians, she said: “I mean it truly feels like a miracle being able to be pregnant and have a baby with the love of my life.”
The newborn is Kourtney's fourth child as she shares Mason, 13, Reign, eight, and daughter Penelope, 11, with her former partner Scott Disick. Meanwhile, Rocky is Travis' third child as he also shares Landon, 20, and Alabama, 17 with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler.
Kourtney and Travis have shared glimpses of their road to conceiving on the reality show The Kardashians, though it wasn’t until Kourtney stopped all treatments that she finally fell pregnant.
In one episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney opened up about her pregnancy journey and explained: “We were not trying whatsoever, I didn't even check my ovulation anymore. We decided to put it in God's hands. I thought it was just not happening and we were accepting of it and then God's plan.”
After announcing the happy news of her pregnancy back in June while at a Blink 182 concert, Kourtney revealed on Instagram in September that she’d been rushed to hospital to undergo “urgent foetal surgery”.
Sharing the news on Instagram, the TV personality paid tribute to her doctors for “saving our baby’s life” and also thanked her husband Travis for jetting back to the US to be by her side after he was on tour at the time.
“I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant,” she added.
Closing off the heartfelt statement, she wrote: “Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing.”
Following the news, fans rushed to support Kourtney in the comments, with one writing: “Even as a stranger (and fan) Im glad to hear of any Mama that makes it out the other side of our collective worst nightmare as Mothers.”
