Condensation is a common issue in the colder seasons which could lead to more dangerous concerns. The moisture can encourage mould to build which could worsen respiratory infections.

Damp homes can also make things worse for people who suffer from allergies or asthma. And it can lead to damage on your window frames too.

An effective way to banish the extra moisture in your homes is by keeping the room's temperature consistent, according to experts. Such drastic jumps could cause condensation.

Experts recommend keeping heating on low at all times to maintain a consistent room temperature. This trick might not be for everyone who's trying to keep bills down.

Some homes have built in ventilation systems which you could switch on for a little longer to help. Or you could try airing out your home properly in a bid to beat mould.

Roger Runswick, director of repair services brand The 50plus, explained that simply being in our homes generates moisture – so it's pretty unavoidable.

He said: "Condensation and mould are issues that affect all of us in our homes. Everyday activities, such as cooking, cleaning, washing, and simply being at home, generate moisture.

"Even while sleeping, an individual adds around half a pint of water to the air overnight, and an active person contributes twice that amount during the day."

You could try ventilating the place and removing excess moisture by purchasing a cheap dehumidifier.
