Married At First Sight UK stars Shona Manderson and Matt Pilmoor couldn't contain their excitement after finally going public with their romance exclusively to OK! on Thursday, 16 November.
Shona, 31, and Matt, 29, met on the E4 show earlier this year but Shona was partnered with Brad Skelly while Matt was paired with Adrienne Naylor. Both marriages failed to work out, but Shona and Matt went on to find love with each other at the MAFS reunion in June.
As MAFS is filmed in advance, all brides and grooms must refrain from revealing any spoilers ahead of the series airing, therefore Matt and Shona have had to carefully keep their relationship under wraps over recent months.
After speaking to OK!, Shona and Matt have been gushing over one another on social media.
The couple posted a video showing the moment their announcement went live, with them both unable to contain their excitement as their secret was finally out in the open. Shona could be seen cuddling up to Matt before they shared a kiss.
"The moment the announcement was finally dropped and we could be free," Matt captioned the post, which Shona then reshared and added: "I love you @mattpilmoor so happy I can finally say it".
It's been almost five months since the new MAFS couple had their first date and they seemed as loved-up as ever when chatting to OK!.
Beaming with happiness, Shona told us: "We have a really healthy, happy, safe, fun, relationship – I really appreciate Matt so much, it’s what I deserve, we deserve each other. I’m proud to be his girlfriend and it just works."
But it hasn't come without its challenges as they kept it a secret "for months" and had to be "so careful" while Matt was still on TV. Shona explained: "Matt would be driving and I would be in the back, we would be walking around Nottingham and I'd be all the way over there, we were like secret agents on a mission".
When asked if they wished they were originally matched on MAFS, Matt said: "We had to do what we had to do, my experience was good but we were meant to go on those journeys to find each other."
He added: "Being together from the start would have been incredible but I think it happened this way around for a purpose. It just works, I didn't expect it and when I first saw Shona I didn’t think we’d end up together, I thought she was very attractive."
