SILENT Witness fans have ripped into the BBC after they rage the show's murder plot is "unrealistic".

Viewers of the long-running police drama tuned in on Monday night for the latest instalment.


It follows forensic pathologists as they face personal and professional challenges away from the crime scene.

Now in its 26th series, the latest episode has been split into two parts.

Part one's synopsis read: "Levelling-up leaders and environmental activists clash in a small town trying to look to the future.

"With a sabotaged train and a dead mayor, the activists become suspects."

However, the episode left viewers less than impressed as they raged at the BBC and show bosses.

They took to social media to slam Silent Witness for its 'unrealistic' murder plot.

One wrote: "Anyone else unable to follow what is going on in."

A second said: "@BBC what's happened to #SilentWitness Is there a new writer? So disappointed. Usually love it! But extremely stupid stories so far! #gutted."

"Every series gets worse. And why bring in new characters with poor scripts, terrible acting and no real reason for them to be there," said a third.

The second instalment of the episode will air next Monday at 9pm on BBC One.

Teasing the episode, the BBC said: "The Lyell team return to the crime scene as another victim is in peril.

"Family ties are tested to their limits as they reveal the dark secrets that led to the tunnel collapse, and Jack is put in a difficult position when a blast from the past comes to visit."
