AMANDA Abbington is going to miss this week's of instalment Strictly Come Dancing, fans of the show will be gutted to hear.
But why exactly is Amanda unable to take to the dance floor and what have people said about the situation?
Who is Amanda Abbington?
Amanda Abbington was born Amanda Jane Smith on February 28, 1974 in north London.
Amanda is an only child and was brought up in Hertfordshire, England.
In October 2021, she got engaged to Britain's Got Talent escapologist Jonathan Goodwin.
Her fiance was paralysed for life after a stunt in the US tragically went wrong in October 2021.

Abbington starred as Miss Mardle in Mr Selfridge from 2013 until 2016 and is famous for her role as Mary Morstan, the wife of John Watson, played by her ex Martin Freeman — who she has two children with — in Sherlock.
She played numerous characters in police drama The Bill until 2007, also appearing in Wycliffe, Casualty, Dream Team, The Sins, Shades, Doc Martin, Coupling and Teachers.
In 2023 Abbington starred in the four-part Channel 5 television series, Desperate Measures, as well as appearing in ITV's The Family Pile, and Netflix show Lockwood & Co.
In August 2023, it was announced that Amanda has joined the Strictly Come Dancing lineup.

Why is Amanda Abbington missing Strictly this week?
The BBC One dance show has been thrown into chaos as Amanda has fallen ill.
Abbington, 49, won't be strutting her stuff on the dance floor on Saturday night with her partner Giovanni Pernice, where the couple were due to perform a Cha-cha-cha.
A spokesperson explained: “Due to medical reasons Amanda Abbington will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.
"Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that all being well, Amanda and Giovanni will return the following week.”
Host Janette Manrara broke the news of Amanda falling ill on spin-off show It Takes Two.
Opening the show, she announced: "We have some breaking news, unfortunately, due to medical reasons, Amanda will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend."
What have people said about Amanda Abbington?
In response to the news of Amanda being unable to perform, former Strictly professional and It Takes Two presenter Manrara said: “Amanda, we hope you get well soon, my love, sending you all the best wishes.”
Fans of the show also rushed to social media to send well wishes to the pair.
One posted: "Get better soon Amanda and Giovanni."
