WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Top Boy.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Top Boy star and executive producer Ashley Walters has opened up on why he wanted the show to finish.<\/p>\n The Netflix drama has been part of viewers\u2019 lives since 2011, with the first two series brought to life on Channel 4 before it was given a reboot in 2019 for three more outings.<\/p>\n Subscribers have been obsessed with Dushane (played by Ashley Walters) and Sully\u2019s (Kane \u201cKano\u201d Robinson) violent and emotional journey as they scrambled to get to the top of the drug game.<\/p>\n So when it came out that Top Boy would end after season three on Netflix which came out in full on Thursday, September 7, fans were gutted.<\/p>\n However, Walters has since revealed that there could have been more seasons but he and Kano turned down the opportunity.<\/p>\n READ MORE <\/strong> Top Boy fans are ‘working out’ Sully’s killer – here’s the top suspects<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Opening up to GQ, Walters explained: “[Netflix] wanted to go on forever!<\/p>\n \u201cAnd Kane [Robinson] and I were like, ‘Personally, we can’t.’<\/p>\n \u201cWe don’t think it’s the right thing to do. It may have gone on too long anyway.<\/p>\n \u201cNot that it’s not been great and the seasons have all been great and everyone’s loved them and I’ve loved them.<\/p>\n \u201cBut it wouldn\u2019t have been right. More info<\/p>\n Director William Stefan Smith, who was behind the show\u2019s two final episodes, agreed with Walters.<\/p>\n He added how it was the production team\u2019s goal to \u201cbring the story to a close with the utmost care and heart\u201d.<\/p>\n Smith said that he didn\u2019t want to leave season three with any \u201cloose ends\u201d, wrapping up the story for good.<\/p>\n And given what took place in that series finale, it\u2019s safe to say the creators did just that.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Dushane was running away with Sully\u2019s drugs as he needed money to start a new life abroad after killing Jeffrey (Shaun Dingwall).<\/p>\n He was making his escape when Sully shot him as Dushane was climbing over a locked gate and the pair shared a sad moment as the latter died of his injury.<\/p>\n Sully then later suffered the same fate as he was shot dead in his car, with the identity of who murdered him remaining a mystery.<\/p>\n Top Boy is available to watch on Netflix.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
