The Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame<\/i> recently revealed its inaugural class Of inductees.<\/p>\n
The inductees belong to four categories: Solo Legacy Artist – a performer whose initial impact on the genre was at least 45 years prior to the year of Induction; Solo Living Artist – a contemporary performer whose initial impact on the genre was at least 25 years prior to the year of Induction; Duo or Group of Musicians – performers whose initial impact on the genre was at least 25 years prior to the year of Induction; and Non-Performer – supporting musicians, songwriters, managers, publishers, historians, producers, etc.<\/p>\n
Bob Dylan<\/b>, Bonnie Raitt<\/b>, Emmylou Harris<\/b>, James Taylor<\/b>, Joan Baez<\/b>, Joni Mitchell<\/b>, Mavis Staples<\/b>, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot<\/b>, Taj Mahal<\/b> and Willie Nelson<\/b> will be inducted into the Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame in the Solo Living Artist category.<\/p>\n
Gordon Lightfoot<\/b>, Jean Ritchie<\/b>, John Prine<\/b>, Johnny Cash<\/b>, Josh White<\/b>, Lead Belly<\/b>, Odetta<\/b>, Oscar Brand<\/b>, Pete Seeger<\/b>, Richie Havens<\/b> and Woody Guthrie<\/b> are the inductees in the Solo Legacy Artist category.<\/p>\n
The Duo or Group of Musicians to be inducted next year are Peter, Paul & Mary<\/b>, The Band<\/b>, The Byrds<\/b> and The Weavers<\/b>.<\/p>\n
In addition, Frank Hamilton<\/b> will be honored with the Paul Robeson Artist\/Activist Award. <\/p>\n
The first induction ceremony for recipients and their families will take place in mid-April 2024. <\/p>\n
