{"id":69268,"date":"2023-09-22T09:33:21","date_gmt":"2023-09-22T09:33:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geels.net\/?p=69268"},"modified":"2023-09-22T09:33:21","modified_gmt":"2023-09-22T09:33:21","slug":"eastenders-star-horrified-as-hes-sacked-from-job-as-fiancee-battled-cancer-the-sun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geels.net\/beauty\/eastenders-star-horrified-as-hes-sacked-from-job-as-fiancee-battled-cancer-the-sun\/","title":{"rendered":"EastEnders star horrified as he&#x27;s &#x27;sacked from job&#x27; as fiancee battled cancer | The Sun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TV star Bobby Davro has revealed how his acting career came to an end as his late fianc\u00e9e Vicky Wright battled cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The entertainment legend, 64, was devastated when Vicky died from pancreatic cancer in May aged just 63.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/568150-sun-sun-features-bobby-829152487.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/eastenders-star-bobby-davro-said-846904722.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>As she fought the illness, Bobby did everything he could to support his partner.<\/p>\n<p>While, for the most part, his stage work remained unaffected, Bobby said he received little to no support from his employer and was instead penalised for occasional lateness.<\/p>\n<p>The former EastEnders actor&#x27;s final role was in a Rapunzel Easter pantomime.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on TalkTV last night, Bobby said: &quot;It was very difficult. It cost me my pantomime career. I was late twice and I didn&#x27;t miss one show, and I worked probably better than I had ever worked before because I needed that, that&#x27;s my medicine &#8211; making people laugh, getting out there and working. I need that, when I am not working it upsets me. Not one phone call did I get. They criticised me on a couple of things where I was late and got delayed because of this dreadfulness that was going on. They all knew, but they never phoned up and asked how things were. That&#x27;s the trouble with our industry, it is all about <span>money<\/span>. So people said to me, \u2018You\u2019re only doing it for her\u2019. But I was doing it for both of us. She was the love of my life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI could never have lived with myself if I hadn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bobby asked <span>celebrity<\/span> pals, including Sir Cliff, comic\u00a0Jim Davidson, singer\u00a0Gilbert O\u2019Sullivan\u00a0and\u00a0Spandau Ballet\u2019s Tony Hadley, to put together video messages.<\/p>\n<p>Impersonating long-term friend Cliff, Bobby says: \u201cHe\u2019s such a lovely bloke.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said, \u2018A little birdie told me you\u2019re getting engaged\u2019.
