DEAR DEIDRE: MY mum will not help me report the man who abused me as a child.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a woman of 24 now and was a victim of her brother from the age of seven.<\/p>\n

My mum, 51, and her brother, 53, have always been close and she relied on him over the years to babysit me when working night shifts.<\/p>\n

I adored him at first as he would spoil me. <\/p>\n

But soon he started doing inappropriate things, then threatening to kill himself if I ever told.<\/p>\n

Recently I opened up to my mum, but she has ridiculed my claims, and says she will never speak to me again if I report him.<\/p>\n
