Shakira recently released a new song “El Jefe,” a collaboration with Furerza Régida.

The Colombian superstar teased the collab early last week by sharing a short clip of an interview with ET in which she said, “I’m not the boss in this song, but wait and see.”

She also shared a snippet of “El Jefe (The Boss),” which is about a person who feels like a millionaire despite having no money. The teaser garnered nearly 2.5 million likes.

The song sees Shakira and Fuerza’s frontman JOP sing about being tired of their 9-to-5 jobs, especially their arrogant boss, and their desire to quit and become their own bosses.

“You’re dreaming of leaving the barrio/You have everything to be a millionaire,” Shakira sings in the chorus. “You have expensive taste, the mentality/All you need is the salary.”

“Being poor is trash/ my mom always told me studying would secure everything but I studied and nothing happened,” JOP joins in.

The accompanying music video features the global superstar and regional urban act performing the track together. The visual ends with Shakira pouring wine on her boss’ head.
