Fawlty Towers: Jon Kay and Sally Nugent discuss sitcom’s return<\/h3>\n

John Cleese’s friend Timothy West has raised his concerns and how he would feel if a new series of Fawlty Towers were to be made.<\/p>\n

John played Basil Fawlty in the series alongside Prunella Scales as his wife Sybil Fawlty and Andrew Sachs as the loveable Manuel.<\/p>\n

Timothy recently opened up about the possibility of John remaking the series and told Saga Exceptional: “We are both interested that he feels it\u2019s something you could make again.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it isn\u2019t going to be the same. It\u2019s not going to have Pru or Andrew Sachs in it. I think if it had been me, I\u2019d have said, \u2018You\u2019ve done it. It was perfect, people loved it.’<\/p>\n

“What else are you going to do?\u2019 If that\u2019s what John wants to do, fair enough. We are very fond of John and think he\u2019s brilliant. But will we watch it? I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Sadly, Andrew who was a close friend of Timothy and Prunella, died of vascular dementia in 2016.<\/p>\n

Prunella will also not be starring in the reboot of the show after Timothy confirmed she had been living with Alzheimer\u2019s disease back in 2014.<\/p>\n

They soon appeared together for six years in the Channel 4 travel programme, Great Canal Journeys.<\/p>\n

During his chat with Saga Exceptional, Timothy opened up on the challenges he faces with her diagnosis and revealed: “There is a live-in housekeeper who looks after the day-to-day running of the house.<\/p>\n

“She [Prunella] seems to manage incredibly well with things, as I try to, but surely she must sometimes wonder whether she is going to be allowed to end her days in this house that has been so dear to us. Not recognising me hasn\u2019t been a problem but it will come, I\u2019m sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of time you have to spend making sure Pru knows where she is and where I am. But we share a bed together, we get up, come downstairs, have breakfast and chat.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow that her condition has worsened, I miss Pru\u2019s companionship as my best friend.\u201d<\/p>\n
