Big Brother viewers have praised Hallie for her bravery and openness aftershe told her fellow housemates that she is transgender. <\/p>\n

During Monday 9 October\u2019s episode of the ITV show, Hallie admitted that she felt as though she hadn\u2019t been \u201c100% authentic\u201d on day onein the Big Brother house before opening up to her fellow housemates. <\/p>\n

\u201cHey guys, I just have something to say. Yesterday I feel like I wasn't being 100% authentic in myself. I thought I'd let everyone know I'm trans, if you didn't know already,\u201d she said as the group sat around the dining room table.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just thought I'd make that loud and clear. I'm a trans woman if you didn't know.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response, 18 year old Hallie\u2019s fellow contestants rallied around her and Chanelle declared: \u201cGood for you. That's very brave of you.\u201d<\/p>\n

After opening up to the Big Brother house, the 16 housemates went around the dining table and individually shared the pronouns that they go by and use to express their gender identity.<\/p>\n

Following the open discussion, social media users took to X, formerly Twitter, to show their support for Hallie and praised the transparency of the housemates\u2019 conversation following her openness.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is what Big Brother is all about. Hallie being so brave and open about being trans will hopefully open people\u2019s eyes who maybe don\u2019t understand much about it #BBUK,\u201d wrote one user.<\/p>\n

Another added: \u201cHallie\u2019s bravery, especially in these dire times? Proud of her! #BBUK\u201d.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile a third added: \u201cWatching the #BBUK contestants all go around the breakfast table and ask each other what their pronouns are has made me really emotional. It isn't hard to make sure you're addressing people properly. I'm so pleased this is the reality TV we have in 2023. It's how it should be.\u201d<\/p>\n

With 16 contestants in this year\u2019s Big Brother house,Hallie is the youngest of all of the housemates and has explained that she applied for the show so that she could have a bit of \u201cfun\u201d. <\/p>\n

She said: \u201cJust the whole experience. I feel like Big Brother is the biggest social experiment, and I want to be a part of it. It's about getting my face out there and just having fun, enjoying life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI'm only 18, so I didn't grow up watching it, but as I got older, I would watch clips on YouTube and stuff, so I've been a fan. And yeah, just for fun, really.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
