A BBC NEWS presenter left fans open-mouthed with a 'fake' sign-off as she ended a bulletin.

Viewers tuned in to Point West on Sunday afternoon for their latest news update.

Presenter Pam Caulfield fronted the bulletin, but left telly-watchers scratching their heads.

As she closed the programme, she turned to her laptop in the studio.

Beeb fans then spotted that Pam was clearly pretending to type until the show went off-air.

She had told viewers: "But that's it from me. I hope you have a lovely afternoon, whatever you're up to. Goodbye."

Reacting on social media, one fan said: "10/10 for the fake typing!"

A second wrote: "Typing out tonight’s headlines a load of gibberish."

"Wonder what she’s writing, there," said a third.

While a fourth commented: "Out of office for sure."

BBC News' official Bristol account even shared the funny clip and poked fun at Pam's subtle attempts.

It comes as viewers blasted the broadcaster for making a mortifying blunder with a map graphic during Newsnight.

Presenter Kirsty Wark had welcomed journalist Mark Urban and former British Ambassador to the U.S. Sir Kim Darroch to discuss Hamas and the escalating war in Israel.

To illustrate his discussion of how Iran could fit into the possible conflict, Mark asked for a map to be made visible on the screen.

One quickly came up behind Sir Kim, showing Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Iran and Iraq.

However, there was a huge mistake on the screen that Mark thankfully caught.

“Iraq and Iran – I think the labels have been put the wrong way round there,” he explained.

</picture>I'VE GOT A TEXT!
