She spoke out about it during a recent appearance on fellow sports stars Haley and Hanna Cavinder’s podcast, Twin Talk.

Paige, who grew up in Colorado, explained that before she was a golfer, her first passion was gymnastics – and she said dressing in leotards all the time resulted in her becoming extremely ‘comfortable’ in ‘almost nothing’ from a young age.

‘I have always dressed a certain way, and I think it comes from my gymnastics background,’ she explained.

Now, the golfer-turned-influencer has hit back at people who are unhappy with the way she dresses, explaining that she doesn’t think it’s ‘fair that women have to look a certain way to be respected’

‘If you’re wearing a leotard, that’s pretty much it, so I’ve always felt comfortable in form-fitting clothes.’

The athlete explained that when she first started golfing, she dressed more moderately because she ‘wanted to be taken seriously as a professional golfer.’

But she soon noticed that ‘no matter what’ she wore, she would receive negative comments.

‘There was one time where I wore a full turtleneck, leggings, I was completely covered head to toe – and people were upset with my outfit,’ she recalled.

‘I was like, “Clearly, no matter what I wear or what I do, people are going to be upset about it. So I might as well wear what I want and live the life I want to live. I’m just gonna do what I wanna do and wear what I wanna wear and if people like it, great, and if people dislike it, OK that’s fine.”

She said that she feels most ‘confident’ when showing off her body, and that she loves to ‘push the limits’ to show people that the can ‘be successful’ regardless of how they dress

‘Yes, I can wear this and I can also be successful and be a bada** at golf,’ she stated. ‘I can be all these things and it does not matter if I have boobs’

‘You can’t control what other people say or the judgement that they have because they just see such a small, little portion of your life.’

Paige insisted that there are days where she goes out in sweatpants and makeup, adding, ‘There are different facets of my personality which I can’t always show on social media.’

She added of her breasts: ‘There’s nothing I can do about [them] so I might as well… I like them, so I might as well show them off. It makes me feel good’

‘I can wear what I want. We need to grow and have an open mind on how a business woman or entrepreneur can look. You don’t have to look a certain way.’

She added that she’s learned to ‘not take’ the backlash ‘personally,’ since the trolls on the internet ‘don’t know her’ – and she vowed that everyone who does know her has never voiced anything negative about her posts.

‘I try not to take it personally if someone comes at me in a very negative way. They don’t know me,’ she continued.

‘We get that all the time. People say, “You’re not classy,” you literally don’t even know who I am,’ Haley (left) said to Paige (right)

Hanna (seen) explained that as people who are ‘very into health and fitness’ and have ‘put so much time into their bodies,’ they want to be able to ‘post a bikini selfie or show a little booty’

‘The people with me day-in and day-out, my family, my friends, if they ever come to me with a concern about something I’ve posted – which they have never done – but if they would then I’d take a step back and re-evaluate what I’m doing.

‘But my family is so supportive and they love who I am and what I do. I don’t really care.’

‘I wasn’t raised to go and comment something so rude to bring someone else down for no reason. I would never be able to bring myself to do that.’

‘How are you gonna sit there and judge somebody based on what they’re doing and how they feel the most confident?’ Hanna added.

‘Telling young girls they have to cover up is such a negative message. It’s showing them that there’s something wrong with their bodies.

‘My message has always been, do what you want. I’m not preaching that they need to follow in my footsteps, I just say, “This is how I feel confident, let me be.”

‘If that’s how you feel confident, I will let you be. I think that’s how everyone needs to go about it.’
