In the heartbreaking statement, the late actor's family members wrote: "We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother.<\/p>\n

"Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend."<\/p>\n

They closed with: "You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love."<\/p>\n

A SUDDEN LOSS<\/h2>\n

On Saturday, the late Friends star\u00a0died at the age of 54 in an apparent drowning accident\u00a0at his home.<\/p>\n

The TV star was reportedly found unresponsive in a jacuzzi at the home in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

The Fools Rush In star is believed to have drowned, according to an early report from\u00a0TMZ.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement sources told the publication that first responders were initially called to the Los Angeles property for a cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n

Although\u00a0Matthew\u00a0had a long history of addiction, sources told the outlet that\u00a0drugs were not found at the scene\u00a0and that foul play is not suspected at this time.<\/p>\n
