S Club reportedly bought back the BRIT Award Paul Cattermole won in 2000, after he sold it five years ago following financial difficulties – and the remaining members have now presented it to his emotional family.

Paul’s brother Colin was ecstatic to be reunited with the token of his talent, which he held proudly backstage after catching the S Club show at London’s 02 Arena last weekend.

According to The Sun, he took to Instagram to share the details and Colin explained: “This experience was not only surreal and emotional for me but also for my other brother, my wife, and Paul’s closest friends who shared the evening with us.

“After the show backstage, we had a heartfelt reunion with the band.

“To our astonishment, they had managed to retrieve my brother’s Brit Award and presented it to us as a touching gesture.”

Colin added: “Holding the award is a profound honour, symbolising my brother’s exceptional work ethic and dedication to his craft.

“These moments underscore the enduring impact of music and art in paying tribute to the memory of our loved ones and celebrating their legacy.”

Besides Colin, Paul leaves behind a sister called Treena and a half-brother called Martin from his father’s second marriage.

Paul had been due to take part in the reunion tour, more than two decades on from the band’s earlier success, but sent shockwaves through the remaining members when he died unexpectedly in April.

He’d been found unresponsive at his home in Dorset, where he worked as a psychic reader, and he was said to have died from natural causes following heart failure.

The five current bandmembers – Jo O’Meara, Rachel Stevens, Jon Lee, Tina Barrett and Bradley McIntosh – are now on their Good Times tour, which has been named after the late star who couldn’t take part.

Rachel revealed to The Mirror: “We have renamed the tour. It’s called the Good Times tour – that was Paul’s solo song that he was going to do an acoustic version of, so we just felt like that was so fitting.

“Paul is with us on so many decisions that we make… and there’s so many sort of elements that are there with him in mind. It’s definitely gonna be a huge celebration.”
