Celeb Go Dating fans cringe over Vanessa Feltz’s date and brand her ‘pizza police’

Vanessa Feltz continued her quest for love on Celebs Go Dating on Tuesday night, but her date with Paul left viewers cringing.

Restaurant owner Paul failed to make an impression on This Morning regular Vanessa – who attempted to keep the conversation flowing.

However, Vanessa, 61, seemed appalled that he served Hawaiian pizza in his Italian restaurant – and things went from bad to worse when he told her he felt like he was being interviewed with her line of questioning.

Paul said: "You're lovely, but I feel like I'm being interviewed” but Vanessa quickly shot back with: “You are quite brief in your answers, you could attempt some conversation, how about that?"

In an attempt to spice things up, Paul attempted to feed Vanessa a marshmallow, but it was a bad move and Vanessa bluntly said: “No, there's no need. No, I can feed myself, it's fine."

In a confessional to the camera, Vanessa says: "There's no chemistry or conversation, it's tanking terribly – what makes him think he can feed me?"

The end of the date finally came, but the awkwardness wasn’t over as when they parted ways, Paul lifted the TV star up off her feet into a hug, to which she said: "Why would you do that? Bloody hell."

Reflecting on the date to the cameras, Paul said: "I get the impression she didn't like me, but it was nice to meet her."

Vanessa was less kind in her review as she moaned: "I couldn't f****** stand it.. it was agony. It was shocking, root canal to the power of 50!"

Viewers at home were left cringing as one person said: "Vanessa going absolutely ham about the pizza – very fitting considering it’s Hawaiian they’re arguing about #CelebsGoDating."

Another said: "Vanessa going on about pineapple pizza like it's so important and serious. It's just pizza #celebsgodating."

Others penned: "F*****g hell Vanessa, what are you the pizza police" and: "Why was Vanessa so passionate about her date serving Hawaiian pizza? She set the tone of the date from the off and that’s why it’s awkward no."

Vanessa split from her cheating fiance, singer Ben Ofoedu, earlier this year after a 16-year engagement.

On Monday night, her pal Myleene Klass, 45, popped up on the show to give Vanessa a pep talk.

In the chat, Vanessa told her pal: "Well certainly it has been an education so far.

"Seventeen years, I haven't dated anyone or been anywhere near a date, and suddenly, bang you are in the thick of it."

Opening up more, she said: "Before I got divorced the first time around, so that was 23 years ago, I was a very different person, I was much more jolly.

"I believed that I was living happily ever after. And then the divorce absolutely knocked the wind out of my sails in this massive way.

"And I don't think I have ever really built it back since."

With that in mind, Myleene has said that she can already see a different Vanessa, thanks to the process.

She finished off by saying doing the show is so "bold" and so "Vanessa."
